A web based platform to engage municipal officials in a constructive interaction with citizens
Partnerships for e-democracy
While there is considerable debate on the subject of public-private partnerships for e-government, there seems to be less going on with respect to e-democracy - a relatively uncharted territory, although significant in the coming years.
The "Partnerships for e-democracy" project initiated by a2d aimed to to explore the common ground of Business, Government, Academic and Civil Society interest in e-Democracy, creating a Multi-stakeholder forum under the title:
"Partnerships for e-democracy: Prospects, Limitations, Proposals"
For this, and in cooperation with the WCIT 2004 organizers (May 2004 in Athens, Greece) on the occasion of a2d's formal launch, we developed a dedicated "e-vote" Web site, featuring a structured questionnaire which could be filled and submitted on-line.
This - by no means exhaustive - on line survey, offered to people working in the private ICT sector, government officials, members of NGOs, international organizations and academics, the opportunity to express their views on the subject of public-private cooperation for the advancement of e-democracy.
Presently, we seek international partners to revise and relaunch this novel forum in a more comprehensive manner.
